A Health Information Handler (HIH) is any company that handles health information on behalf of a provider. Example will include:
- Health Information Exchange (HIE)
- Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO)
- Release of Information (ROI) Vendor
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Vendor
- Claim Clearinghouse
