Ken Sacks
Partner – Chief Executive Officer
As an original and founding member of Bluemark, Ken has seen and supported the organization through two decades of expansive growth and innovation, providing strategic direction along the way. He has key relationships in the healthcare industry based on years of experience in developing local and national alliances. A self-described calculated risk-taker, Ken’s channel incentive models have motivated strategic partners to embrace the integration of Bluemark’s proprietary technology to fill functionality white space in their service delivery suites.
Ken has built a reputation for developing business strategies and incubating new business models while embracing the core values of integrity, innovation and growth. His leadership has helped Bluemark to be best in class within their application areas.
Bryan Exner
Partner – Chief Operating Officer
Since its inception, Bryan has kept the company engine running by overseeing all of Bluemark’s operational silos with a focus in business and product development as well as client relations. He specializes in object oriented analysis and design and is often called upon to offer product demonstrations and answer client questions related to software offerings. Bryan loves problem solving and delights in finding novel ways to creatively apply existing product features to meet client needs while dreaming up new ideas.
Prior to Bluemark, Bryan gained relevant experience at boutique software firm James Durkin and Associates, which provided valuable experience for his work today. Bryan also has a BS in Computer Science.
David Becker
Partner – Chief Information Officer
David Becker has been with the company since 1995, before it even existed under the Bluemark moniker. He wrote the original code for software that later became EASy, which automated the entire financial assistance application process for nursing homes in New York City. Today he is still responsible for our Long Term Care line of business, serving as the main point of contact for the city and state of New York. He also manages new and existing customers as well as larger ongoing projects nationwide while handling internal business administration operations. David specializes in project management, business analysis, information systems and security and technical writing.
David has two Bachelor of Science degrees in Math and Computer Science from State University College at Potsdam, New York. His favorite part about working for Bluemark is knowing what he does supports people with extremely hard jobs who work tirelessly to help others, creating a chain of good work all around.
Stephen Mullin
EVP Business Development and Marketing
Since 2015, Steve has been at the helm of Bluemark’s sales and marketing initiatives, driving business growth by leveraging existing strategic partnerships and building new ones within key markets. As a Six Sigma certified professional, he specializes in providing thought leadership across the healthcare revenue landscape and collaborating with some of the most accomplished leaders in the field.
Prior to joining the Bluemark team, Steve served as the VP of Marketing and Product Development with Human Arc, Director of Global Marketing for Philips CT Division and Director of Marketing Communications with GE’s Healthcare IT Division. He has a BA from Providence College and an MBA from the Olin School of Business at Babson College.
Sarah M. Brainard
Director of Client Relations
Sarah is Bluemark’s jack of all trades, specializing in everything from project and account management to documentation, implementation, training and support. She has been a part of the Bluemark team for over 18 years, joining right after graduating from SUNY New Paltz with a BFA in Graphic Design. Sarah is highly skilled in healthcare revenue cycle management and specializes in task management, risk management, written and verbal communication, critical thinking, creative brainstorming, optimization and build planning, among other skill sets that keep the wheels of Bluemark turning.
Outside of work, Sarah is extremely active within her local Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) chapter. She has served as Communications Chair since 2012 and was on the Hudson Valley NY chapter’s board from 2015-2019. She also spent time as Education Chair and Secretary and is President-Elect of the chapter for the 2021-22 term. Through HFMA, she has received the 2013 Folmer Bronze Merit Award, 2015 Reeves Silver Merit Award, 2016 Muncie Gold Merit Award and the 2019 HFMA Medal of Honor. In between, she found time to serve as an active member, and she is currently on the Region 2 webinar committee.
Daniel Pinnavaia
Director of Software Development
After 18 years in software development, Daniel is a bonafide expert in directing and overseeing the development, release and maintenance of software applications, databases, operating systems and more. He has also led Bluemark’s foray into microapplications, managing a team of developers to create and implement web-based Java applications. He enjoys working within the Bluemark team to provide software solutions that help clients better manage and perform daily tasks.
In his spare time, Daniel is also a Volunteer Firefighter for Milton NY Engine Co. 1. As a past board member and president of 501c3 “Friends of Milton Train Station,” he also assisted in the restoration of the historic wooden train station in Milton, NY. Daniel received his BS in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Evan Sacks
Senior Product Manager – Audit Division
As Bluemark’s in-house audit product expert, Evan oversees all activities related to audit management software, including customer support, account management, build management, marketing and sales. His skill set includes 12 years of experience and knowledge within audit workflow, project management, and mult-department organizational development. He received his BA in Psychology from Bucknell University.
Evan loves helping clients and finds fulfillment in providing users with tools to make them more effective in their roles. He enjoys evaluating client needs and tailoring solutions designed to have a lasting, positive impact on their organization.
